Čufarjeva Street, Ljubljana

Children helped us make the street friendlier to pedestrians and cyclists.

Almost two thousand children and teenagers cross Čufarjeva Street every day, which is why it was crucial to make it more pedestrian and cyclist friendly.

With minor interventions and a partial change in the traffic regime, we have restricted car traffic and made it possible to more easily walk, play and rest on the street. We designed and fabricated street furniture together with students and primary school children, and we designed interactive toys through a series of workshops with the youngest children.

The project is an important contribution to reducing car traffic in the immediate vicinity of schools and kindergartens, and encourages parents to bring their children to educational institutions on foot or by bike.
